The poems really speak for themselves. I need not add words. Although, I do want to add fabrics to create a loving Christmas Treasure Quilt to read each year with my wee-ones.
I've trimmed all of the books panels at 9 1/2" x 13" rectangles and gathering ides how to piece them together. Possibly 2 1/2" scrappy red and white squares? What are your ideas?
In the meantime, enjoy the memories!
And be sure to visit Jennifer at The Inquiring Quilter and Link up your progress and finishing at her Wednesday Wait Loss.
I just love this fabric print--so old-timey and fun thanks for sharing...Maybe each one could be the center of a log cabin type block? Just a thought hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThank you, I like that idea. I will lay some fabric strips out to see the idea come to life. ~
DeleteYou could trim each block simply, with alternating red, white, and green Christmas squares. On the left side of the book, you could piece a Christmas block of some sort. Could be Rudolph, bells, angels, ornaments, etc or possibly classic quilt blocks like log cabin, churn dash, etc. When you put the book together, the left side is squares the right side is the panel squares with the images and text. It'd be tricky to put together, requiring lots of planning I think, but it should work. Thanks for linking to Wednesday Wait Loss.
ReplyDeleteI truly love the idea of classics quilt blocks ;) Thank you for another great idea!
DeleteI also like the idea of the piced or applique on the left, poem on the right. Perhaps you can add texture or sequins on the left-hand page? A78mandel at yahoo dot com
DeleteI made a Christmas quilt using a book panel a few years ago. I didn't like seeing the page numbers, so I appliquéd snowflakes over them.
ReplyDeleteLove This Idea! Thank you for sharing!
