A "New Direction" Aurifil BOM

Each month I look forward to Aurifil Designer Challege day  hosted by Pat Sloan. This year the theme is a rainbow of colors and each designer is assigned a color going around the color wheel.

April Designer featured is Sue Marsh, you can get to know each and learn some fun things about them by joining Pat each month!

I found the arrows a little tricky to make, but Pat has some wonderful tips here.

I chose to use lovely greens and yellows with a pop of bright pinks in some of the blocks. While working on Sue Marsh's block "New Direction", I thought of the colors showing up in my little garden. Right after the rains today, I went out for a little photo shoot. Beautiful!!!

  4. At first glance it looks like a simple block, but on closer inspection I can see the detail. It's a really cool block, and the greens you chose are perfect!

    1. Yes, do! It has given me much practice in learning the art. The instructions are almost always easy to follow and when there are some tricky or more difficult steps, many tutorials are available.

  7. What a cool block! The complex piecing allows for a great variety of fabrics and therefore a lot of texture and movement. Thanks for including the tips! Also thanks for linking to Wednesday Wait Loss!
