Let's Do it For Our Country~

I'll be joining many of my quilt friends all over the Nation to sew for

Block Drive for 2020 - the deadline for donated blocks will be December 1, 2020. You can find information at the pattern link below.

The QOV National Sew Day is February 1st.

I am a part-time quilt maker and will be joining the sew-along from my own niche. You can register to sew along with us at the link below.

The block drive is for 9 Patch Blocks this year
Follow instructions provided at the link to provide the "perfect" block.

I hope to see all of you visiting and joining in this wonderful program for 2020!

The pattern used for this beautiful Red, White & Blue is a free gift from Pat Sloan  and can be found at her Oh My Stars link. I will be using up more of these same fabrics for my 9-patches! The backing of Oh My Stars is snuggle flannel to keep someone cozy.

The Winter Blues Blog Hop

Welcome to the Winter Blues Blog Hop with Carla from Creatin in the Sticks! I do love a blue and white quilt! I’m stopping in early for all those morning dears that will catch the hop befor I wake up... wink.... Here are Some of the lovelies I've had the pleasure to play around with and create at my machine~

This pattern is created by Pat Sloan called Traffic Jam. You can join her in her challenge to use up scraps to bust out a quilt, pillow or table runner. You choose! The binding was completed just this week! I'm also liking up with Patty of  Elm Street Quilts at her One Monthly Goal challenge. Find the link up challenge at Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal -January Finish Link-up.

This adorable little was made also using a block pattern by Pat Sloan from her Winter Fun! sew along. The blue flannel backing makes is so snuggly! Zooming in on those cute blocks! Such a great block to feature a favorite fabric!

Can you guess, I truly love the ease of Pat Sloan's designs. This is her Oh My Stars! pattern adapted to a larger block size. This was created for a retirement gift for a special person in my life and he and his wife are truly enjoying it in their Buffalo, New York home!

This Special Beauty is called Caravan Roundup and is a free pattern from Moda Fabrics. What a fun project to work on. I plan to have this one ready for my trip to Wyoming later this year!
If you are looking for a great sampler to work on, this is Winter Fun! by Pat Sloan. Show off you big block skill!
Thank you Carla for hosting such a beautiful blog hop! Visit the whole schedule, visit each blog, leave sweet comments and make new friends!

Junk Store Junkie 2020

If you've followed along, you may notice I enjoy visiting second-hand shops and antique barns & shops.

You can see one such stop in Pittsburgh PA here.

Browsing around, I  came upon a cute find. For $1.00, it came with me and has a place in my glove compartment. So cute! This one was found at I43-JJ Antique Mall in Manitowac, WI.

Junk Pile Finds~

Sorting through the junk pile scraps, I came upon a hand-pieced square. My Mother-In-Law thought it was just a lovely block. It was turned into a quick pot holder just for her.

Going back to May 2019, you can see a baby quilt made with some of these very same scraps. I called it Vintage and Modern.
Have a happy Wednesday!

January 2020 OMG - Traffic Jam

Getting back to work, life....reality.......

Happy New Year Friends. Starting the New Year back into the first Full week of the Year!

My wish for this New Year is to have good Balance in my life and routines. One small goal is to join Patty Dudek of Elm Street Quilts in her One Monthly Goal Link Up Party. Simple enough to share what I'm working on if I keep to that Balance I'm talking about.

This month, my wish is to get binding on this lovely. It is a pattern created by Pat Sloan called Traffic Jam. You can join her in her challenge to use up scraps to bust out a quilt, pillow or table runner. You choose!
