January One Monthly Goal

I chose not to join 2018's OMG with Patty at Elm Street Quilts and this year I've decided last minute that I've missed the encouragement from her and her followers.

This month I am challenging myself to completing some lingering projects. I want to see this one through to completion and ready for gifting. I am calling it the Mother-in-Law's Quilt and the reasoning behind the title: My mother-in-law gifted me the fabric for the quilt!

  1. Are you planning on a sashing?

The fabrics are lovely. . .and the simple pinwheel block lets them shine.

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

    1. I have set it in a blender sash -what I'm looking for is a fun quilt but not so overpowering with lots of color. I'm coming along quite nicely. Quilting is almost done!

  2. It's funny, I did the same thing. I did not post to any of the OMG's in 2018; however, I decided to try to keep up this year. I am trying to complete my lingering WIP's, also. Have a great year!

    1. Wishing you much success in 2019 with your WIPs! I used a tracker sheet to strike my WIPS off the list!

  3. That's going to look great when it's finished. I love blocks that look like windmills, they always look really dynamic.

    1. I love the colors and windmills/pinwheels seem so easy to construct.

  4. So many options for what you can do with those blocks! Have fun choosing a final setting/sashing/alternate blocks/borders/etc. etc.!

    1. I am keeping it relatively simply and adding a splash of surprise polka dots. Looking forward to getting it done so I can use it!

  5. I love pinwheels! That name will always make you remember your mother-in-law too. I'm hoping to stick with Patty's OMG this year too.
